RESTore to ROAR Retreat

October 6 - 8, 2023 | Blue Ridge Mountains

Registration Open Now!

Is the YogaFaith RESTore to R.O.A.R Women's Retreat for me? Ask yourself these questions:
  1. Is my busy schedule lacking in soul and self care opportunities to take care of and rejuvenate me?
  2. Am I feeling like a burnt out, burnt up, chaotic human doing more than a calm and content human being?
  3. Does grind come to mind more than grace?
  4. Is my medical chart expanding as my never ending to-do list keeps growing?
  5. Am I weary and tired of trying so hard, doing "all the right things," and still missing the mark?
  6. Am I ready to be rescued from the rat race, to be restored, refreshed, and reminded that I am loved and delighted in, just as I am?
  7. Am I a woman who's tired of surviving and is ready to start thriving?
If you answered yes to any (or all) of the above. Then come join us in our brave, safe space of grace on our Wild Haven Mountain amidst the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.
Get rooted, renewed, and restored to re-align your spirit, mind, and body and rebuild the ruins - from ashes to beauty.

Wild Haven is just that. A haven in the midst of the wild outdoors, where you can get away from the rat race of the world and move at your own sacred pace towards hope and healing.

You can opt to walk alongside, wade in, or dreamily float down the New River and bask in the sun. Maybe enjoy a picnic by our Kairos waterfall.

Of course, on nearly a 100 acre mountain, there are plenty of trails through the forest to hike, or if you like, you can blaze your own!

Simply notice and experience the awe and wondrous joys of nature as your soul comes back to life breathing in the fresh mountain air!

We sincerely believe we are each "Designed Naturally Awesome" down to our very DNA to heal in, with, and from God's creation as it reveals God's extraordinary nature and remarkable creativity.

We pray you'll RESTore with us, so you can return home transformed to ROAR another day - a better way!

We Hope to Meet You ...

With over 20 years experience each as health professionals AND trauma survivors ourselves, we are passionate about sharing HOW our lives are continuously transforming from Ashes to Beauty by putting into practice what we will be sharing with you!

We will likely be offering these activities (weather dependent):

  • Breath Work
  • Yoga (if you are driving, please bring a mat, blocks/props, blankets if you have them as we have limited supplies)
  • Hiking -  Boots or Tennis Shoes. *We will do the easiest trails for group hikes. Boots are necessary for the more difficult grades if you'd like to hike them during your free time.
  • River/Creek Explorations - Sandals with straps like Keens or Tevas are suggested.
  • Forest Nature Walks (open exploration)
  • Bible Study (limited internet on the mountain, please download a Bible App or bring a Hardcopy Bible)
  • Journaling - we will provide a pen and journal, but we invite you to bring your own if you have a special one you like to use.

  • Instructional Cooking Session
  • Firepit - expect to smell a bit like smoke.

Please check the weather and bring clothes and supplies that you feel are needed for your comfort.

The retreat is not weather dependent, however outdoor activities are. Temps above 40 degrees or if light rain/sunny - we are still likely going to be outside for several activities!

Food Considerations

A light breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner are provided. Breakfast will be provided the night before for you to enjoy in the space of your choice.

Because this is a restorative retreat, we aim to provide you mostly with healing and healthy foods, but with a few treats (no cheats), too! We will do our best to have gluten free, dairy free, and nut free options. However, if you are more comfortable bringing a cooler, please do! (Trish thrives that way, too, so no guilty feelings :)

  • Alternate Breakfast Option: You can also enjoy a dine-in breakfast at The Riverhouse Inn between 8:30 am - 10 am. Be sure to place your order 24 hours in advance!
  • Lunch is provided by Old House Goods so you can choose from their menu.
  • Dinners are buffet-style so you can choose (ex: Taco Bar, Potato Bar, Salad Bar, etc).

Optional Activities

There will be some free time planned throughout the weekend for you to do what you freely want to do! We highly recommend staying an extra night to spend the rest of Sunday and maybe Monday morning soaking in the experiences and beauty of the mountains. This allows a little more time and space for a better re-entry "back to reality."

  • Walk 'n talk, sit 'n sip, and shoot the breeze on your own or with one another!

  • Hike and explore while praying, journaling, and processing any experiences, information, or feelings that may have surfaced during the retreat.
  • Fishing and Kayaking supplies can be rented at The River House
  • Here are some more nearby attractions in case you want to venture further away - and we absolutely encourage you to extend your stay by a day or 2, too!
  • 30 min massages as our gift to you!! You also have the option to add time in 15 min increments (up to1.5 hours) at an additional cost. Massages will usually be available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Our massage therapists are amazingly gifted and specialize in trauma sensitive - trauma release body work. There will be a sign up sheet available Friday as people arrive - it will be first come, first serve for the time slot you want!

Physical Abilities

Participants must be able to walk without assistance (with the exception of hiking poles or walking sticks or canes) up and down stairs and across uneven terrain .

The mindful movement sessions may include, but are not limited to, yoga, dance, walks, and hikes that will be outdoors for the most part on uneven ground and will either be on mulch, grass, dirt (mud if it is wet), or gravel.

Hikes will require tennis shoes at minimum, but hiking shoes/boots are preferred.

The pace of walks and hikes will be set by the retreat guide to accommodate the slowest hiker. Otherwise, movement sessions will all be self paced.

Note: We are dreaming and praying about an Accessible Retreat Center with accessible friendly ATVs for hiking. Contact Trish for more info and ways to donate!

Once you register, you'll receive:

  • an invitation to our private WH-R&R private FB page in order get the latest updates, and we encourage you to engage with one another to organize and make arrangements with others for sharing the costs of transportation and lodging if need be.
  • reminder emails with suggestions to help encourage and prepare you so you can stress less!
  • the week before the retreat, you'll receive an email with the exact Google/Waze location of the cabin for checking in.
